BeMeBetter with Career

Most of us spend a large portion of our lives working. Many of us become obsessive about our career—so much so that some of us identify who we are with what we do for a living. This is a recipe for imbalance in our lives, which can lead to problems in the other BeMeBetter areas. It is important that our careers be fulfilling and have a sense of purpose to us.

Some questions to ask:

Do we love what we do, or is it just a way to earn a paycheck?

Can we see ourselves doing this work for a long time, possibly the rest of our working lives?

Are we consumed with thoughts of how to get out of this situation and change your career path?

Does your compensation represent your value to your career or are you being underpaid?

It is easy to get stuck in a rut as far as your career is concerned; what’s important is how you get out of it, whether its demanding more out of your current career—compensation, free time for family, new responsibilities—or changing careers entirely. It may not happen overnight, but there are ways to begin orienting ourselves for growth and development in our working lives. Remember, it is the act of doing something versus doing nothing that will make the difference here
